Nelson Mandela University is a dynamic African institution that is recognized for its leadership and quality educational opportunities. After a thorough research process and interviewing key stakeholders of the university, Creative Caterpillar was selected to re-brand this prestigious institution. We created a full corporate brand identity with an agile brand architecture. The new brand identity reflects the gravitas and values associated with the Nelson Mandela name – establishing a brand that is fresh, simple and internationally recognised. The font chosen was selected because of its simplicity and legibility across all platforms. The circle replacing the ‘O’ symbolises the globe, Ubuntu and approachability. The triangle replacing the ‘A’ represents growth and forward-thinking.
